Nubia has released quite a few interesting smartphone models with attractive designs and game-oriented performance. Recently, the Chinese company has unveiled the Red Magic smartwatch that could be available soon along a new gaming smartphone, the Nubia Red Magic 6. Visually, the smartwatch looks somewhat identical to the Honor Magic Watch 2. Nubia confirms that the smartwatch has 1.39-inch AMOLED display. With 454 ppi of pixel density, it will be quite convenient to read small text and use tiny interface elements of the smartwatch. This won’t be the first smartwatch from Nubia. Previously, the company has released the Nubia Watch and Nubia Alpha with curved display and large designs. Compared to Nubia’s previous smartwatch models, the Red Magic 2 actually looks quite conventional.

If you think that whether smartwatch gaming will be a thing with the Nubia Red Magic smartwatch, the answer is no. Based on what we know so far, the smartwatch is simply a gaming-themed wearable. It will be a perfect pairing device for the Red Magic 6 gaming smartphone. It’s more about stylish design, instead of performance. You can expect that the Red Magic smartwatch will have excellent integration with new Nubia gaming smartphones. Because the Red Magic smartwatch users Wear OS platform, it is technically possible to play games by downloading compatible titles from Google Play Store. However, the selection is still rather limited. Exciting and worthwhile games for smartwatches are still few and far between. Even so, with such a gaming-themed design, some users will be more eager to play with the smartwatch, but obviously, it will be nothing more than a very casual gaming experience.

As for the smartphone itself, the Nubia Red Magic 6 will be officially released on March 6, so it will be just days away. As one of the most expected gaming flagship, we have heard a few rumours and leaks about the phone. The company has revealed that the Red Magic 6 will be quite ground-breaking in terms of display refresh rate. The Nubia Red Magic 3 has 90Hz refresh rate for smoother gaming experience. The Red Magic 5G set a new standard in 2020 with 144Hz display refresh rate and it is now a leader in the industry in this aspect. Nubia promises us an even better thing with the Red Magic 6. This could mean that the smartphone will pack 165Hz refresh rate. However, the company hasn’t revealed anything about this new detail. As a flagship model in 2021, there’s no doubt that the Red Magic 6 will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and the built-in X60 5G modem.

Its 4500mAh is nothing unusual for a flagship smartphone, however the 120W quick charging features allows users to regain 50 percent of battery charge in only five minutes. It means, users can still have extended gaming experienced after a short break. There’s a possibility that Nubia will also release a more advanced Red Magic 6 Pro with some extra enhancements that make gaming more exciting to do.
