The latest news to hit the web is that Fitbit is set to purchase the smartwatch maker Pebble for an unreported amount but might likely be in the area of $34 to $40 million according to TechCrunch.

To be honest this might be a good thing for Pebble. The company have been around since 2012 however have been in trouble recently seeming to struggle with the likes of Apple, Samsung and Sony who have released smartwatches on the market. A lot of people believe that Pebble is one that kick start the smartwatch craze. They first came to notice when they received $10 million funding on kickstarter for their iPhone connected smartwatch.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Pebble in the future. Would be sad to see them completely wiped off the market. Stay tune for more.
