Apple Watch: Learning the Basics
The Apple Watch is a smartwatch developed by Apple, a company known for its famous iPhone, iPod, and iPad. It was reveled in September of 2014, and it was expected to compete to with the ever growing smartphone market. The watch allows users to accomplish basic tasks such as: checking Facebook updates, reading text messages, and talking to Siri. The watch also contains various health and fitness features. The watch is available in three designs. They are:
- The Normal Apple Watch: The version comes with the standard stainless steel case.
- The Apple Watch Sports: This version comes with a silver or space grey aluminum case.
- The Apple Watch Special Edition: This version is made with 18-karat gold in order to give your watch a stylish look.
All designs allow for an interchangeable strap. The user also has option to choose a small or large screen. The watch also comes in six various colors. They are as followed:
- Stainless steel
- Silver aluminum
- Space black stainless steel
- Space grey aluminum
- 18 karat yellow gold
- 18 karat rose gold
Although it may sound fancy, the digital crown is the little knob located on the side of the watch. The knob is mainly used zooming in and out of applications, map locations, and personal photos. Pressing the knob will access Siri, and it will also take you back to the home screen.
This feature allows the user to communicate with others by sending subtle vibration to your friend’s watch. Think of it like a morse code. Taptic Feedback can also be used to alert the user about recent notifications, or even turn-by-turn directions.
The conversation button can be found below the digital crown. This feature allows the user to converse with friends. Once you press the conversation button, contact info will appear on the screen. Once you find the friend you wish to communicate with, you simply press the conversation button again to make a call.
Replaceable Watch Straps:
The Apple Watch has straps that can be easily be replaced by anyone. That means you can say goodbye to the repair shops. All you have to do is purchase an additional strap, remove the already attached strap, and then simply attach your newly purchased watch strap. The device has different strap designs such as: leather loop, leather modern, and an elastic band for sports.
